For this conceptual project, the artist traveled five continents and visited thirty-two cities, booking a standard double room at the local branch of a global hotel chain in each. He took a picture of the room's interior, always using the same perspective, and of the vista from its window. The resulting work offers a fresh and manifold view of a globalized world: the chain maintains a remarkably uniform design for its rooms, yet many show a slight influence by local taste, revealing how similar -- perhaps exchangeable -- big cities around the globe have become while keeping some of their characteristics.
