Hoxton Mini Press

London, United Kingdom

Hoxton Mini Press describes itself as an independent publisher in East London of photography, art and lifestyle books that are both beautiful and affordable. It grew out of a part of Hackney “bursting with diversity, creativity, struggles and solidarity”, and its first book, I've Lived in East London for 86 ½ Years, was about an old man born in the area who dreamed of being a ballet dancer; the small photobooks that followed sold better than expected, and the founders say they never intended to start a business. They have kept it deliberately small, offset the carbon of their book production, plant a tree for every online order, and want to bring art and photography to a wider audience, with guides and notebooks beside the photobooks.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
