Stanley/Barker
Stanley/Barker was founded in London in 2014 by the business partners Gregory Barker and Rachel Stanley, with a modest and precise intention: to bring a considered list of beautiful photobooks of substance and depth into the world. Each book is made by a team of specialists, among them designers, typographers, illustrators, binders and printers, who work together to realise the artist's individual vision, and the team does much of that work from a studio in the English countryside, away from the registered office in Covent Garden. The list is artist-led, and the shop sells signed copies and editions alongside the regular books, so the attention to craft goes into the object as much as into the pictures.
