Libraryman

Paris, Sweden · since 2008

Libraryman is an independent photobook publisher founded in Stockholm by Tony Cederteg, who edits and designs the list and has since moved the house between Paris, Antwerp and Basel. Its stated aim is to realise contemporary photography in book form, concisely and in limited editions, treating each title as an intimate and enduring poem and acting as a complementary hand to the artist's vision. The books share a recognisable restraint: linen-thread binding, tip-in covers, foil typography and a coloured headband, usually in a numbered first edition with a signed special edition. The list moves between established names such as Gerry Johansson, François Halard and Osamu Yokonami and younger photographers, with a Seasons Series and an award for unpublished projects.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
