Hat & Beard Press
Hat & Beard Press is the illustrated book imprint of Hat & Beard, an independent Los Angeles publisher founded by J.C. Gabel and Brian Roettinger, and it describes itself as an independent art book publisher and packaging house that deals in fine art and photography books. The imprint focuses on original illustrated non-fiction of pop-cultural and historical significance, such as visual histories, a hip-hop photo book remixed by graffiti artists and a graphic archive of a band, while the parent company's literary imprint, Hat & Beard Editions, handles essays and interviews. The company also produces a podcast, Big Table, with its sister non-profit, Invisible Republic.
