Eight short essays by Nadine Olonetzky
When setting out on a journey, we tend to focus on the destination, stopping to admire landmarks or must-see sights, but rarely pay attention to the mundane objects that furnish the passing scenery. This photographer wants to remedy that failure to appreciate overlooked pockets of public space. With no set destination, guided only by what he found interesting, he traveled his native country and his 'second home,' finding a surprising array of roadside attractions, from bus stops and gas stations to cattle gates, rifle ranges, and even a giant neon cowboy.
