A pioneering aviator and cofounder of a legendary airline was, from his earliest flights, also an avid photographer, and his spectacular views of the Alps have been popular since he began publishing them in the 1920s. He also participated in expeditions to distant locations, supporting his activities by selling prints and receiving donations from patrons. This volume reproduces two hundred of the most striking and historically significant images from the archive, including a famous seaplane trip to Africa that made him a household name in both aviation and the medium.
