The artist came upon these instant photographs and their companion volume while moving studios in 2018; only a few had ever been published before, and the decorated box that housed them had long been forgotten. They depict an iconic period of skating from the early nineties with the same ease, grace, and affection for his subjects the photographer is known for, shot mainly at a well-known Brooklyn skate spot and featuring some of the best-known skaters of their generation.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
