"The stage was far away. I could only see the audience around me," explains Alex Majoli. "I started playing music while watching people, I examined them one by one; I photographed their faces, their ballots. What I saw was like theatre, a declared fiction of Americans on the stage. I removed all the colour from these faces and now, like unconscious inventions, they visit existence only for the time imposed by the state. For this ballot they become the protagonists between Republicans and Democrats."
