A journey from the near to the far, from the inside outwards. Vision of a floating world, reported in a language from before the text, with its places, its objects, its characters waiting or in contemplation. The thread thus drawn along the pages invites us into an elusive everyday. One picture borrows from the codes of amateur holiday photography, another from psychological portraiture, or from tourist illustration, still life, architectural documentation. D.M.
