Ten Miles Round is Nickerson’s portrait of her adopted locality, the close-knit farming community in County Louth, Ireland. In portraits, landscapes and still lifes, she captures the complex, inextricable relationship between people and place. In images that embrace beauty in a muddy, imperfect way, her focus is as much the psychic aspects of community as the physical.
