"Teen Love is about Anemoia – the nostalgia for something that never existed." I have known SJ for as long as I can remember. We knew each other from the 2012 North of England art and design era. They were in Manchester and I was in Leeds (Leeds Leeds) I have always loved their work; graphic and artistic without being too graphic artist. The "boy racer" subculture we were into as kids was all toxic masculinity. With 'teen love' SJ is trying to reclaim / recontextualise it through a queer lens. Google Max Power Magazine and you'll see. Collages of magazine pages, snapshots and posters.
