Drawing on the Stoic concept of oikeiôsis — self-knowledge as the sole tool for self-fulfilment — Mara Palena assembles analog images shot from childhood to the present. The photographs are subjected to continuous alteration controlled by an individual state of conscience, sometimes fragile and melancholic, sometimes sharp. A shared mnemonic archive that triggers empathy in the viewer.
