The project, commissioned by I Teatri di Reggio Emilia in collaboration with Collezione Maramotti, represents a photographic interpretation by Arianna Arcara of the Belgian dance theatre company Peeping Tom’s productions La Visita, site specific at Collezione Maramotti from November 4 to 7, 2021, and Triptych, staged at Teatro Valli in occasion of Festival Aperto 2021.

Arcara followed Peeping Tom’s creative process first at Collezione Maramotti, where they staged improvised performances that resulted in the site-specific production “La Visita,” to then move to the Teatro Municipale Valli to work on the acclaimed trilogy “The missing door, The lost room, and The hidden floor,” winner of the Fedora – Van Cleef & Arpels Prize for Ballet 2021.

The catalogue “A view of Peeping Tom’s la Visita/Triptych by Arianna Arcara” stands as one of the two project outcomes together with the homonymous exhibition on show during Fotografia Europea 2022, Reggio Emilia.

Promoted and supported by Fondazione I Teatri, Reggio Emilia, and Collezione Maramotti, Reggio Emilia.

ABOUT

The project

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.

Images and rights

Covers, interior pages and descriptions are shown to introduce and identify the books, always crediting publisher, author and photographer and linking back to the publisher. We ask publishers for their permission, and we remove anything on request within 7 days. If you are a publisher, an author or a photographer and you want something changed or removed, write to info@spineindex.it.
