Interview between Manon Lanjouère and Ika Paul-Pont, led by Andreina de Bei
Series: Civis Maritimus
Supported by the Fonds de dotation agnès b.

A poetic and photographic manifesto for the preservation of the oceans, and the first title in the Civis Maritimus collection, which will give a volume each year to a maker with an original view of the relation between people and the marine world.

Lanjouère takes on the pollution of water by plastic and its consequences for the planet, for health and for the life of every living thing. Through unpublished pictures and through testimony she brings out the omnipresence of invisible plastic particles in our bodies and our surroundings. She forges spectral images that look like a nosology of the sea; each one, by its beauty, invites contemplation, and by its force, action.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
