An atlas of earthly bodies. A book of true stories, as always, but more choral than anything the magazine had made until then — an idea long brooded over in the editorial office.

Every reportage in the volume is born from, revolves around or ends inside a part of the body: arm, hair, brain, vocal cords, backside, heart, teeth, fingers, tongue, ankle, spleen, eyes, ear, ovaries, skin, penis, feet, lungs, calves, wrist, rectum, testicles, thyroid, vagina.

And then a photographic reportage that tries to see with the eyes of a child who, from birth, sees in black and white. A single corpus, taken to pieces and multiplied.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
