Made with the Bergamo section of the Italian Alpine Club, the volume sets nineteenth-century landscape painting in dialogue with the medium of the camera.

The Orobie Alps were fixed by painters such as Costantino Rosa, Andrea Marenzi and Ermenegildo Agazzi, who portrayed the beauty and the particularity of the Val Taleggio, the Valle Brembana, the Val Seriana, the Serio falls and all the spectacle of the Presolana peak. Beside these surprising painted translations of the alpine landscape stands the work of the Japanese climber and maker Naoki Ishikawa, in an original rereading of the same range that sets out to record, in experiential form, the stages of a sentimental and anthropological journey.
