A unique view of high society and of the players of a Dolce Vita now long gone, the Italian and international cinema of the 1960s and 1970s. Marina Cicogna's path as a photographer is first of all that of an out-of-the-ordinary personality, the granddaughter of count Volpi, creator in 1932 of the first film festival in history. The book presents some eighty black and white pictures of actors and celebrities, often caught in unofficial situations, with texts by the author and pieces by Jeanne Moreau, Calvin Klein and Dacia Maraini.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
