With his first work, Borgo di Dio (1955), Enzo Sellerio entered with success the ranks of the masters of neorealist photography, but at the end of the 1950s his style changed radically. In 1960 he made the reportage Palermo. Ritratto di una città and two years later, with the large project I Paesi dell'Etna, he established himself definitively on the international photographic scene. The volume retraces his Sicilian work, between irony, composition and a deep knowledge of the island.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
