To commemorate Daido Moriyama's receipt of the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the International Center of Photography Infinity Awards, a special edition of his photobook COLOR was available exclusively at the ICP Bookshop on 3 May 2012. Two hundred copies with a silver paper cover were produced. Each buyer of the special edition was able to choose one c-print from a variety of twenty images. The print was inserted by hand into slits opened on the book's front cover. During the event, the book's title was rubber stamped onto the front cover and then passed to Moriyama, who signed the front of each copy. The trade edition of COLOR was published by Getsuyosha.
