A negative-positive reversed and reconstructed version of the edition published by Morel Books. CTY brings together a large selection of Antony Cairns's work from his various city projects in London, Las Vegas, Tokyo and Osaka, interspersed with six texts by Simon Baker.

Each text takes a quotation as its starting point, from authors including J. G. Ballard, William Gibson, H. P. Lovecraft and Benjamin Péret, to introduce themes of urban life and urbanisation: the drowned city, the ruined city, the abstract city and the endless city.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
