For his series Onsen, published by the young house Flotsam Books, the Japanese photographer Yusuke Yamatani visited wild hot springs in Japan — natural and unmaintained — inviting his friends, members of his family and other interested people to come along. Rather than the springs themselves, what interests him here is the human side: the way people react, relax, let themselves go and communicate around these wild onsen.
