New colour photographs made in the same semi-rural midwestern landscape Tim Carpenter explored in his earlier books. Less a sequence of "decisive moments" than a series of fleeting moments of recalibration, the pictures follow the subtle repetitions and reassessments of a sensate body moving in time through a physical world: no final solutions and no perfect versions, only the playful reckoning of a self working with a camera, entangled with concrete and steel, wood and water. The slightly off-kilter design favours motion, variation and process over hero images.
