'Caça as palavras' (The hunt for words) is a series of portraits of women over 50, highlighting the wounds left by stigmatising words. Through a red staging, reminiscent of the light of a film laboratory, she reveals the violence of oppressive discourse. Through the force of her work, the photographer redefines the representation of female and social identities, combining visual aesthetics with political questioning. By hybridising photography with other forms of expression, she invites us to rethink our relationship with the image and with human diversity.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
