Beauty born of accident, the Hazard collection is born: In my risography studio, each print begins with a ritual: the machine awakens, the ink starts flowing, the colors adjust. This initial moment produces imperfect sheets, stained, crossed with ghost images and unintentional overlays. In printing, these are called macules. Traditionally, they are set aside and forgotten. I have chosen to give them a second life. Page after page, I assemble these fragments of trials, failures, and happy accidents to create unique books. Each copy carries the memory of past images, blending several overlapping stories, as if time had been printed in successive layers. This gesture is primarily ecological: extending the life of paper, reducing waste, working with what already exists. But it is also an aesthetic gesture: revealing the unexpected beauty born of the process, transforming waste into a collector's item. Each book is a unique piece: no two can ever be reproduced identically. You are holding in your hands a piece of the workshop, a moment frozen in ink, proof that chance can also become art.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
