Volker Hinz (1947–2019) was one of the great German photographers of the 20th and early 21st century. He himself selected the pictures for the second volume Carrousel of the book trilogy edited by his wife Henriette Väth-Hinz, for an exhibition in 2015. They were made behind the scenes of countless fashion shows, above all in Paris, where thanks to his Stern photographer's pass he had access to areas closed to ordinary photojournalists.
