These archives, from the 1950s to the 1990s, are the work of astrophysicists at the Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Marseille, and some of the plates were firsts in their time. Shut in a cupboard for years, these images of space gradually lost their scientific function and their usefulness; abandoned, they nonetheless escaped being thrown out, and the book gives them a second life as pictures.
