In the authors' account: when the forest of Notre-Dame caught fire we were at home, two kilometres away. We each had a camera, each a zoom, which left us free to follow what we wanted. From our window, made non-human by the telephoto, it was not entirely impossible to imagine the birds' point of view — and it stopped being Notre-Dame and became something else.
