Yderst, “at the edge” in Norwegian, paints a poetic, cultural and political portrait of the coasts of northern Europe. Conceived as an album of double-page images and as a logbook, it follows a long journey made between 2021 and 2024, from Norway beyond the Arctic Circle along the North Sea coast to Belgium and France, exploring the permanence of ancestral cultures, ecology, adaptation to the elements and the passing on of knowledge from country to country. Starkly contrasting black and white reveals the power of nature.
