The first woman to receive the Robert Capa Gold Medal, Catherine Leroy was one of the few female photographers to cover the Vietnam War between 1966 and 1968. She flew to Saigon at 21 with a one-way ticket, a Leica and a hundred dollars, befriended American soldiers of her own generation and shared their daily lives for three years, close to the combat. The book gathers her photographs with letters and documents.
