Melle is Ilse Oosterkamp's son. He has multiple disabilities and is a cheerful boy who needs support from his environment with everything. She is also a photographer, fascinated by his being different and by the possibilities and impossibilities of his body, and has photographed him in all kinds of postures. Because they are so familiar with each other, she can look at him freely as if he were a living sculpture. Usually she leaves out the unnecessary; on this occasion she added the unnecessary on purpose.
