Bárbara Fonte (1981) is an artist whose multidisciplinary work spans drawing, photography, video, sculpture, performance and writing. Her artistic path reflects questions of identity, body, religion and politics. The work she develops is described as an evocative, manifest, symbolic and intimate place that addresses the relationship between the feminine, culture and religion, alluding to a personal history and an empirical attitude in which she explores the dialogue between reality and a memory altered by the impulses of the psyche and the instincts of a body facing existence and collective consciousness. This book presents a selection of photographs taken between 2015 and 2024. Over time, they remain like the ashes of a body. The actions of the body escape balance, break the norm, and pass with pleasure in their curve before the camera.
