OKTA-9

is a speculative photographic work on climate geoengineering. Of the many climate policies being considered, only one promises to reduce average temperatures on Earth within months. From carbon capture to machines designed to thin clouds, this project invites us to imagine the world after the deployment of these technologies with potentially unpredictable consequences.

Based on real patents and devices designed to modify the climate,

OKTA-9

projects a reality on the frontier of the possible, where engineering becomes a survival strategy. The images, between recognizable landscapes and distorted worlds, compose an unstable visual universe, crossed by doubt, anticipation and vertigo.

This book was produced with the support of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
