A dive into the opaque depths of the world: Jonàs Forchini transforms underwater immersion into a visual, philosophical and sensory experience of disorder.
Learning from trouble
presents the unique work of Catalan photographer Jonàs Forchini, whose practice develops in the heart of the sea depths. If the ocean has long been a place of fantasies and cultural projections, it paradoxically remains one of the least represented spaces in the history of photography. Forchini chooses to devote his work to it, approaching the underwater environment not as a setting, but as a true visual habitat where the image is created in opacity, resistance and uncertainty.
The images do not aim to reveal a world, but to teach us how to live better
disorder — this condition specific to our contemporaneity crossed by a planetary ecological crisis. Seeing trouble is not a lack of vision: it is a way of thinking. Thinking about the disorder does not lead to abandoning knowledge: it implies accepting what escapes, allowing other imaginations and other relationships to our environment to emerge.
In a world where uncertainty is becoming the norm, Jonàs Forchini offers a radically new way of looking, feeling and thinking.
Learning from trouble
is a work that goes beyond the boundaries of photography to touch on philosophy, ecosophy and contemporary sensitivity.
