On 15 April 2015 Josephine Witt, a freelance political activist, interrupted the press conference of the European Central Bank, throwing a shower of confetti and papers at its president, Mario Draghi. From the moment she leaves her seat until she is taken away by the security guards, twenty-three seconds pass. The pictures taken by the journalists present in the room circulated over the following twenty-four hours on social networks, on television and in the press around the world. This is an experimental visual essay built from those pictures, found on the internet. The title is a quotation from Witt's manifesto against the bank.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
